In 2021, Sony came out with a new home-theater sound system. The HT-A7000 is the company's latest flagship soundbar and provides a 7.1.2 immersive audio experience. This translates to five front drivers, two up-firing speakers that bounce the overhead channels from the ceiling, and two beam tweeters that reflect the surround sound channels off the side walls. 

If you add the optional rear-surround speakers and a subwoofer, you experience Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping that creates phantom speakers. Listeners experience a multi-dimensional, engulfing sound field and high-resolution audio as the creator intended. It’s compatible with Dolby Atmos, the latest surround sound technology, and 360 Reality Audio. 

360 Reality Audio

Sony’s immersive 360 Reality Audio brings 3D effects to music. When listening to music using this technology, you can hear each instrument coming from a specific place within the 3D field that surrounds you. For instance, you may hear the string section above and over to the left and the drums to the right. Some music services with compatible 360 Reality Audio content include TIDAL, Deezer, and Amazon Music Unlimited. 

Sony Bravia Cam

The CES 2022 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree went to the Bravia Cam. This ingenious device connects to Sony’s BRAVIA XR TVs. It recognizes where people are sitting in a room and how far they are from the TV and then adjusts the sound for optimum balance and acoustics.
